Random Thoughts…

Okay, so I am starting a blog.  Yeah, that means I am about five years too late to be cool, but then that is the story of my life.  But why blog, and why now?  I certainly have plenty of outlets of expression (Twitter, Facebook, various newsletters, Flickr, etc.)  But I generally tend to not put forth much of my personal opinion in those forums because, well, they have other objectives tied to them for me.  Personal opinion is okay in a limited scope there, but this forum here will be where I will contemplate putting my deep thoughts (with apologies to Jack Handy.)

So here I am, in a Starbucks in the middle of the United States, Nat King Cole playing (loudly) in the background, and I have my trusty MacBook Pro out, connected through the free AT&T wireless for Starbucks Gold members (I am a slave to branding opportunities.)  I like “working” here because of the randomness of the experience.  People across from me are having a heated conversation……in Cantonese.  How cool is that?  It allows the creative side of my brain to imagine the subject of their discussion.  They alternate beween smiles and flashes of anger.

They must be talking about American Idol.

Okay, so there it is, I have started a blog.  Now let’s see if I come back and put more information, more posts, some pics, etc., here, or if you will come back two years after this post to see it was the only one (I am a joiner, not a quitter.  I have a membership to a gym that I haven’t visited since I started the membership two and a half years ago.  It is a $30 a month gym membership.  *sigh*)  Maybe I can commit to this blog in a more frequent way than I did to the gym.

Yeah, and maybe I can be rich and beautiful and famous and kind and……………
